Accused Pedophile Running For Dallas Public Office
Pending child sexual assault charges are apparently not enough to stop one Dallas man from pursuing a seat in a public office, according to the Gaston Gazette. Jack Etter, 76, was arrested for “taking indecent liberties” with a 4-year-old girl last January, according to reports. He is currently awaiting trial and is pursuing a seat on the Dallas Board of Alderman. Etter has entered a plea of not guilty, and his name will appear on the ballot in November. “There’s no argument,” says Etter. “The only thing I could tell them was that I did not do anything and I am not guilty of anything. I have not done anything..therefore, I’m not hiding.” Do you think Etter should be allowed to run for public office while facing such serious charges? Should be given the benefit of the doubt until he is convicted of a crime? Law Office of Christine Harris—Dallas…

East Texas Man Indicted On Drug Charges
An East Texas man was arrested on October 6 after a state trooper found pills in the air filter of his vehicle, according to News-Journal.com. Brandon Ross Sterling, 25, was pulled over and the officer noticed fresh smudges on the hood as well as an air filter box. Texas State Trooper Jacob Muehlstein discovered more than 1,300 pills in the air filter, after gaining consent from Sterling to search the vehicle. Sterling was one of eight men arrested last summer in a crack cocaine drug trafficking ring. He will likely be charged again with possession of drug as well as intent to distribute, after police recovered about 1,000 hyrdocodone pills and 300 Xanax pills, as well as a half gallon container of codeine syrup. Sterling is still awaiting trial on the charges from last summer. After his latest arrest he is facing between five and 99 years in prison. Law…

Houston Experiencing An Influx Of Southern California Pimps
A California pimp was arrested in Houston on prostitution and sexual assault charges, according to the Houston Press, on October 17. The man, 22-year-old Kojuan Miles, is the latest in what Houston Police are calling an ‘influx of California pimps’ into the area. Miles was arrested on child sexual assault charges with victims aging 14- and 17-years-old. Another case involved a California man, 23-year-old Sharod Willie Austin, who is accused of bringing his girlfriend from California and attempting to force her into prostitution. Austin was apprehended in Austin, Texas and arrested. Police are hoping that this not the beginning of a trend. While the job market may be struggling in California and holding steady in Texas, this is not the kind of job creation politicians are trying to achieve.
